ABOUT US

Who We Are

Our Mission

The mission of the Better Health Foundation is to mobilize philanthropy to measurably improve community health for all the people of the 9-county greater Quad Cities region.

Our Vision

The vision of the Better Health Foundation is a region that thrives because all of the members of its communities are engaged in improving their health and that of their neighbors.

Our Values

  • We value openness in our criteria for granting awards, both in the ways in which proposals are assessed and in our communications with potential and awarded grantees.

  • We value collaboration among philanthropies in funding the solutions to needs, as well as collaboration with grantees to ensure that grantmaking is effective. We view the foundation as a partner with other funders and with our grantees for the betterment of community health.

  • We value communication among grantees to promote the creation and adoption of the most effective ideas and approaches to community health. We will facilitate and promote communication of lessons learned and the adoption of successful models across our grantee community.

  • We are dedicated to reducing the disparities in community access to the means to prevent and diagnose the causes of poor health. We value positive change that powers health equity for all of the people of the region.
