Claire Motto Steil

Claire Motto Steil is a Quad Cities-based nonprofit leader whose career has been defined by a commitment to building community and improving lives. A Bettendorf native, Claire co-founded Empower House, growing it from the ground up into a thriving 501(c)(3) organization offering programs found nowhere else in the state of Iowa. In her current role as Project Director of Coordinates QC, Claire utilizes her rare gift for turning bold ideas into executed projects by bringing an ambitious vision to life: strengthening the nonprofit sector across the Quad Cities so that every organization is better equipped to serve its community, and ensuring that residents can access the resources they need to thrive.

With dual master's degrees in Nonprofit Administration (University of Notre Dame) and Speech-Language Pathology (St. Ambrose University), Claire brings both clinical expertise and organizational vision to her work. Claire serves on the boards of directors for the Better Health Foundation, Empower House, and Coordinates QC. She is a 2025 Quad Cities Business Journal 40 Under 40 recipient and the 2023 Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa Jean Kelly Professional of the Year — recognition that reflects her deep roots and lasting impact in the community she calls home. During her free time, Claire enjoys reading, walking, cooking, and traveling with her husband, Griffin.
